Ensuring Accessibility in Custom Visual Content
Accessibility Statement for MindOfDerby
We see you. We care about you.
Measures to Support Accessibility
MindOfDerby takes the following measures to ensure accessibility: we include accessibility as part of our mission and embed accessibility considerations directly into every design and build decision rather than handling them separately.
Conformance Status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements to improve accessibility for people with disabilities, across three levels: A, AA, and AAA. MindOfDerby is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Partially conformant means some parts of the content do not yet fully meet the standard.
Additional Accessibility Considerations
Accessibility is considered throughout design and development, with a focus on clear visual hierarchy, readable typography, color contrast, keyboard navigation where possible, and responsive layouts across devices.
Compatibility
MindOfDerby is designed to work with Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge alongside screen readers on Windows or macOS, Safari with VoiceOver on iOS, and Chrome with TalkBack on Android.
The site may not fully function with browsers more than three major versions out of date, mobile operating systems older than five years, or environments where JavaScript is disabled.
Technical Specifications
Accessibility of MindOfDerby relies on HTML, WAI-ARIA, CSS, and JavaScript to work with your browser and any assistive technologies installed.
Known Limitations
Highly visual and interactive sections, including hero animations, video embeds, and 3D visuals, may not yet include full text alternatives or may rely on motion or hover-based interactions. MindOfDerby prioritizes cinematic and experimental visuals, which can introduce accessibility challenges during early design stages. We are actively refining layouts, adding descriptive alternatives, and reducing unnecessary motion during updates. If you encounter a barrier, contact us and we will provide an alternative or assist directly.
Assessment Approach
MindOfDerby assessed accessibility through self-evaluation and ongoing visual and usability reviews during site updates.
