Indoor FPV Drone Tours for Los Angeles Listings: What Agents Should Know

FPV flythroughs are the shot that makes people rewatch a listing video. One continuous move from the driveway, through the front door, down the hall, and out over the pool. Here is what agents in Los Angeles should know before booking one.

What an indoor FPV tour is

FPV stands for first person view. Small ducted drones fly through interior spaces at controlled speed while the pilot flies through goggles. Unlike a standard camera drone, they can thread doorways and staircases, which shows a home's layout and flow in a single take.

Why it works for listings

  • It shows how rooms connect, which photos never do.

  • It is built for vertical feeds where the first two seconds decide everything.

  • It signals a premium listing before the buyer reads a word, and it helps you win the next listing appointment.

Is it legal and safe?

Commercial drone work in the US requires an FAA Part 107 remote pilot certificate. I hold Part 107 and fly indoor FPV myself. Inside, the real concern is the property, so I walk the route first, secure anything loose, and plan the path so nothing gets touched. Exterior shots near Burbank, Van Nuys, LAX, or other controlled airspace need authorization, which I handle before shoot day.

When FPV is not the right call

Small condos with tight layouts, or homes where the whole story is one view, often do better with a slow cinematic film and a strong aerial. If FPV will not add value, I will tell you upfront instead of upselling it.

Pricing

Indoor FPV is available on MindOfDerby real estate packages, which start at $2,500, and like every real estate package, you pay nothing until close or 3 months, whichever comes first. Check the real estate video page for tiers, or book a call to plan a flythrough for your next listing.
